A unpublished short story...

Few years back... i wrote this story for a competition. Unfortunately that event was cancelled and it becomes a piece of paper slept at my desk... like many other piece of thoughts slept at my....

Here it goes...

                                             Growing Everyday… with a Smile J

I walked along the road, I am sweating, this hard blow wind is frying me, go away sun please I murmured …I cannot say loud in the public at Chennai – Election buzz carried away in all the corners ….huh
I think some puncher shop owner might put nails on the road in order to increase the revenue @ recession time; I struggled to pull the 108 Kg bike even on the plain road, There is no place available on both sides of the road to park my vehicle…I want to take water at the earliest…no hope for that.
I am sure I need to walk at least 1 more KM to touch the high way, somehow I managed it without a drop of water. Sun followed me religiously in all the way. I parked the vehicle and ordered for a water bottle.
It cost RS 20 per liter…Reason is simple The shop is on  the IT highway…People started using the word IT more generously for everything…from vegetable vendor to my house owner.
I had the water and parked the vehicle in the same shop.  Hell’ It is just 9:45 am but the temperature might be around 40°C I am not able to wait any more for an auto and thought of reaching office by walk which is just an another 1.5 KM in the highway ..the great IT highwayJ…people used to call like this..as if there is no other company on the road. yaa but still the majority of companies might be in IT.
Tall building covered with shinny glasses started slapping on my face again and again all the way…
I thought why architects don’t think something different to attract commuters on the road; in fact it is distracting and raising the global temperature.
Do they know? The raise of 2 degrees Celsius average global temperature might be reached within 2050, if there are no concrete steps taken to prevent the global warming. Sea level raise was predicted between 23 CM to 48 Centimeters due to the same. Waiting for the good government climate policy is not going to help us to avoid catastrophic climate changes. We are going to face shortage of water and 20-30% of all plant and animal species at increased risk of extinction if temperatures rise between 1.5-2.5C, Agriculture business fed by rainfall going to be in Vain and it will cause multiple ripple effects… whose responsibility to save this earth?  Whose responsibility to preserve this nature? Screech…. Someone horned and yelled at me …go... left… man... voice and vehicle dimmed slowly..
Oh my god why I am thinking like this? All of this I never thought when I skim thru the News papers or TV any time in my couch at home. Go fast Rahul!  You have a meeting @ 11am.. I said to myself…and started jogging ….                                                                                                                                                                   I almost reached my office … it is just 10:10. I took a sip of water to wet my mouth and saw the same sun which followed me tried to fry the small plant near by the gate. I felt the same way an hour before…  I opened the bottle and poured the remaining water to the saplings. Said  “Go Green and entered inside the gate. Now the sun is struggling to follow me and the wind is relatively coolJ
On the return I saw the plant survived and it is growing every day …with a smile.
Now it is bringing smile on my face every day when I enter in to the office and it will do the same job for so many in futureJ.

what is the best smart phone for young professionals in India?

After carefully analysed the options available in the range Rs 10000 to 14000 i just landed with 3 options samsung corby pro , LG optimus , Samsung galaxy 3 (i5801). Though Nokia express music dropped the price and E series have given tough competition in my thought process.

The best - Samsung galaxy 3 (i 5801)

Why ?

1. first one Android 2.1 Eclair, believe it, It is really cool with 70000 free applications available in the market. 5/5

2. Touch and qwerty key board.. though it is available in all the smart phones..this is cool with swype option ..i can type my mails very easily and also view/ edit word , xls , ppt attachments .5/5

3. pretty decent camera with 3.2 Megapixel with all the options and decent user interface ( cool panoramic and action shots. 5/5

4. Music player /FM is really good but u cannot expect too much loud speaker volume. It is very cool when i am using headphones..those who want very loud noise..this is not the one..it is clear and gentle i would give 4/5.

5. Design and atheistic..cool cool cool ...wow sleek ..silver design ..back black panel with Google..awesome colorful display for just 12000 Rs..though it is not amoled... 5/5

6. Battery ..Man here is the concern..when u download so many stuffs ..installing applications..u will easily run out of a battery..i can guarantee for 24 hrs with my experience.. It is needs to be daily charged...
Otherwise u r gone ..dont worry u have cool android application...it will alert u ..hey i am running out of charge..pls charge me :) ... 3.75/5 i have given low score since in nokia i used to charge once in 3 or 4 days..But it is not nokia smart phone ...dont have any clue about E series charging..routine

7. DVD player .. I watched movies in the phone ..wow the clarity is very good. I would give 5/5

Go for it , if your price range is below 15000RS.

Overall satisfaction and value for money:

Yes 5/5

No doubt in that.. i bought it for 12000 RS with 2GB free card. I replaced with 2GB with 8GB by giving another 750 RS ( it is expandable up to 32GB )... i feel great about using the phone and worth for money...

Regards,
Jay

As few of my friends were like to know why not the other models has been chosen..I included the below part..

why Not ??

E - series..This was my initial choice , when i started looking for Mid range smart phones..it's cool with all the features like document view / editing ,Qwerty key pad with low price starting from 9000RS...very attractive for those who want to move from a normal phone to SMART phones...

But some one who are ready to pay another 3000 for android 2.1 ... 3.2 Mega pixel colorful camera instead of 2 mp in e series this is not the one ...E series doesnt have GPS , whereas galaxy have GPS , Layer , Maps etc..etc... Symbian OS is no way near to Android 2.1

I would give E series...4.5 /5 ( for one reason i had given high value it has value for money and true business phone)...

Nokia Express Music ..pretty old model dont go for this since they dropped price from 18000 Rs to 15000Rs and free 8GB card...stylus features are outdated now a days..Galaxy have much more advanced hand writing features and u can get 8 GB card for 750Rs... they are claiming colorful display ..but in actual it is not so..i have seen the display in my friend nokia express music phone..no way comparable to samsung...

I would give 4/ 5

Samsung Corby PRO: It is cool phone available in the market for 10,000RS , colorful , Qwery key pad
3 MP camera but the OS is JAVA..no android ..It has only document viewer and dont have document Editor

I would give 4.5 /5

LG Optimus: It has all the feature of samsung galaxy 3 with the same rate except one ..the OS is Android 1.6
But they are claiming we can upgrade to 2.1 ...Now a days Google going for Android 2.2 ( fryo) ..so i thought it is better to go for atleast Eclair 2.1 instead of old version

Atheistic looks is not so good ..just a Square form type phone ...Not like a sleek silver Galaxy 3 :)-

I would give 4.5/5

Other Models:

Motorola Mile stone , HTC wild , Sony Ericson's mini PRo are not fit in to the budget of below 15000, Hence it has been ruled out.. and they do not have any competitive smart phone in the above market segment in the range ( 10000 to 14000)..However i heard some good reviews Soni ericson's X peria pro ...But it doesn't have document editor.

Hope the above information will help you to choose the best smart phones... especially who are moving to the first smartphones...the beginners

Regards,
Jay
