மேகங்களுக்கு பதில் உன் அன்னையின் நிழல்கள்
அங்கும் இங்கும் அலைகின்றன!   

இடி இசைக்கு  முன்பே 

பால்மழை பொழிகின்றன!

சில சமயம் சாப்பிடாமல் அடம் பிடிக்கும் உன்
அன்னைக்கு உன்னை காட்டி அல்லவா
நான் சோறு ஊட்டுகிறேன்
என் தேன்நிலா !!

உன் கண்கள் இரண்டும் நீர் இல்லாமல் வாழ 

கற்றுகொண்ட அழகிய இரு மீன்கள் !

ஆனந்த கண்ணீர்க்கு மட்டும் 

விதிவிலக்கு!!

உன் பிஞ்சு விரல்கள்  தொடும் பொழுது

வந்த துன்பம் எதுவேன்றாலும் வாடி நின்றால் ஓடுவது இல்லை

மீண்டும் வீடு திரும்பினார்.

ஆகா கண்ணதாசன் என்ற ஒரு கவிஞன் வாலி என்ற ஒரு கவிஞனை தன் வரிகளால் ஏற்றி வைத்தார்...

அதன் ஒளி நம் உள்ளத்திலும் ,காதுகளிலும் தேனாய் பாய்ந்து வருகிறது பல தலைமுறையாய்.

ஆம் வாலி என்ற வாலிபர் எழுதியா பாடல் தான் அது.பல வாலிபர்களின் காதலுக்கு கைகொடுத்தது...

பல லட்சம் தரும் ரகுமனுக்காக இளம் கவிஞனை அவர் அலச்சிய  படுத்தவில்லை..அன்று இறவு தொழுகையை ரகுமான் வாலியின்
விட்டில்தான் நடத்தினார்..

ஒரு அகோபி மடத்தினர் நூல் வெளியிட்டு விழாவில்..அப்பன் வெட்டிய கினறு என்பதுக்காக உப்பு தண்ணியை குடிப்பவன் நான் அல்ல என்று மிகவும் கம்பிரமாக உறையாற்றினார்.

இளையராஜா காத்திருப்பு அறையில் முமேத்தா நபிகள் நாயகம் பற்றி எழுதிய நூலை ராஜா கொடுத்தார். படிக்க எடுத்தவர் புத்தகத்தை கீழே  வைக்க முடிய வில்லை  ஒரே மூட்சாக படித்து முடித்தார்.

நாம் ஏன் ராமயணம் பற்றி இது போன்று எழுத கூடாது என்று உட னடியாக ராமாயண காவியம் எழுதி முடித்தார்..

கலைஞர் நூல் வெளிவந்த காலையே தொலை பேசிமுலம் தொடர்பு கொண்டு பாராட்டினர்..

உங்களுக்கு இது எல்லாம் பிடிக்காது என்று நினைத்தேன்! என்றார் வாலி

தமிழ் சுட்டாலும் அன்பைதான் போழியுமோ ? வானம் அழுகிறது தன் அழகை பாடும் காதலன் இறந்துவிட்டான் என்று!

கடல் அலைகல் ஒன்றை ஒன்று பின்னுக்கு  தல்லி கடைசியாக முகம் பார்க்க வருகின்றன !

From Struggle Land to Wonder Land

I love to share this blog , though it is not written by me. The credit goes to one of my colleague Ashish Kumar Charan who has written this in Infy blog.

                                       Form Struggle land to wonder land.

“There are some people, who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.”

Year 1981 witnessed a ‘Beginning’. Beginning of a journey, which was about to bring a revolution in IT world. Seven entrepreneurs   joined hands to start a Company with an initial investment of INR 10,000.  Infosys it was.

“If there is no struggle, there is no progress.”

Infosys that time was rightly a Struggle Land. Business environment in India was difficult as Capital markets were undeveloped and bribes were rampant. In first two years Infosys team made twenty to twenty five visits to Delhi to obtain permission from Government to import their first computer. Also it took an entire year to get a telephone   line.  Despite all these challenges, the team was determined to conduct business ethically and create a values-driven organization without taking any shortcut. Their financial expectations were not very high. Making money wasn’t essential; earning respect was. Business would come, they believed.

“Winners don’t do different things they do things differently.”

When Infosys redoubled efforts on marketing in the US   , it founded many prospective customers who felt that India and US are as different   as night and day. This gave Infosys a chance to think differently and it pioneered the concept of Global Delivery, 24x7 Model. At the time customers in US went home from work and returned the next morning, a solution would be waiting for them.

“A leader is a dealer in hope.”

Infosys was struggling to make a big impact. Believing that Infosys, a small unknown company, was as good as dead, co-founder Mr. Ashok Arora left to pursue opportunities on his own in US   . Other members crowded to ponder as to why things were not going as they wanted and what constraints were limiting them. After much discussion   , a   view emerged to sell the company for an offer of   $1.5 million or more. Chief Mentor, Mr. Narayana Murthy was not convinced with this decision and declared “If any of you want to leave, I will be happy to buy you out”. He was adamant not to quit as he believed that company would succeed eventually .This determination of his inspired others to change their mind and they all agreed to stay on.

“Luck is when preparation meets opportunity”

Economic reforms of 1991 were a light of hope in the dark tunnel of disappointment for Infosys .The growth and the profit dramatically improved. Infosys spread to Europe. Going steadily, Infosys made many enhancements in its infrastructures and policies. It got an honor to become Indian first Software house to operate an Offshore Software Development Center .Infosys created   its formal HR Department, Quality Department, obtained ISO certification, inaugurated its first international office in Boston   and also stepped into Indian stock market .The economic liberalization bought many fortunes to Infosys.

“Success is not a place at which one arrives, but rather the spirit with which one undertakes and continues the journey”

Since then   , Infosys is achieving one success after another. It has grown to be a super hunk in IT Industry, fetching laurels from every part of   the globe.  It has turned out to be a wonderland .But most significantly, throughout its journey from Struggle Land to Wonderland; it has lived up to its expectation of being “Most Respected Company of India”. Infosys is one of the few Indian companies that   have changed the way the world looks at India. No longer is India, a land of snake charmers and beggars. It is now perceived as an economic giant to reckon with, bursting with ambitious entrepreneurs.

"No one can predict to what heights you can soar. Even you will not know until you spread your wings."

The Struggle Land was flowered to Wonderland   by sowing the seeds of talent and persistence   , and irrigating them by hard work and positive attitude. Therefore,

Keep your heart open to dreams and do remember that the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to conquer but to fight well.

My 2 cents on 2G

Not only energy…Even money neither be created nor destroyed but it can be transformed from one form to another form.

I have heard lot about the magic number of 176lakhs score scam in India, where is the money why don’t we seize them. It is just exist in the every one pockets of the Indian citizen who are using the mobile phone.

It is in the pocket of vegetable vendor, fish cart woman, poor farmer, construction labor, driver, maid, and many more people in the bottom of the pyramid. Where technology is out of reach all the time for centuries for these below poverty line people…

If suppose let us assume , if they have sold out 2G India license for 176 core …all these TATA , Vodafone , Reliance big shots are not running business for charity..Or nonprofit organizations. They would have rendered their services with minimum of 30% profit and they would have collected 228lakh crores from the pockets of again Indian citizens.

Mobile business is one of the most competitive businesses in India and running with cut throat competitions between them. Anyone can go and buy SIM card for just 10Rs and get a lifelong incoming call free, which is 7 Rs per minute once upon a time.

People are able to make a call for 10 paise, 30 paise  and 50 paise. We are connected well now; even though we are 7^th largest country in terms of geographical area…With 1 RS u can make a call all over India from TamilNadu to Kashmir and from Bombay to West Bengal.

 I strongly believe any country can become a developed country by only two ways.

                First one education and the second one is Technology.

All our people should be affordable to use the advanced technology, by which we are eliminating more and more waste and being more &more productive. 2G is affordable to everyone but not the same case for 3G. Source: Wikipedia

 “The 3G service is used by the minority users in the country who own 3G handsets and the prices of the 3G services are currently out of reach of the pockets of most Indians. This led to the slow adoption of 3G”

The above couple of lines are from Wikipedia, those who are in India will know how affordable 3G Price plans are at India. U need to shell out minimum of 800Rs from your pocket for 3G services, which is not affordable to a common man in the society.

Now let me get in to more details of 2G.  All the above stuffs are just either consequence or reality exist in India. It is not just my imagination out of my mind.

Before defending I would to like to completely agree there is scam, there is corruption and there is bribe exists in all the government process from birth certificate to death certificate. Whether you and me like it or not, it just exists. What we are going to do about this is a next question??

It starts from village administrative officer to some top most ministers at India.

If there was a fovorism and if there was money under the table, Supreme Court is dealing with it, anything illegal should be brought to justice. I don’t want to jump in to conclusion. Guilty should be punished as per the law; I have no second though on this.

What I would like to defend is a magnified number created by the Media of 176lkahs crores in every one’s mind and two much hype built around that…in fact many unbelievable stories built around that...Tamilnadu govt giving TV on the scam money, free rice..free fan and mixer ..each person should get 40 000 Rs..oh my god !!

There is no end to it… there is scam no one will listen but if you say 176 lakh crore everyone will turn to you…

In simple terms this is what happened.

There was a thought process going on to do a bidding process for many days from 2002 for India telecom license and it was implemented in 2010 April for 3G spectrum license. Since 3G is brand new.

Government expected 35000 crores out of that but everyone shocked when we received 1 lakhs 6 thousand cores out of that…really nobody expected that !!

The 3G and broadband spectrums jointly fetched 106,000 crore (US$23.53 billion) for the government against its estimates of 35,000 crore.

CAG group (controller and Auditor general) went back to their drawing board extrapolated the existing stuffs and said if we would have gone for the 2G bidding process we might have received the 176lakhs crores out of that…the magic number.

But no Top CAG officials, IAS officers, secretary and even prime minister knew or predicted this magic number much earlier; otherwise they could have stopped it. 

That is what a Technology or innovative product or process can do...

For eg , Even shiva Nadar can claim , government has not processed my license fast or allowed me to bring mini computers in 1980’s , Otherwise I would have been a Microsoft and now HCL lost 100 billion USD because of that..because no one new importance of OS or software cost..When focus is in Hardware…

2. Even yahoo can claim, if we have accepted Google search engine when they were showed demo to us just as Stanford students ,We wouldn’t have lost 50 BUSD in search business..We should sue CEO of Yahoo... No... because we don’t know search business have such a huge potential!!

3. Even Sachin can claim 2008 IPL I lost 4 MUSD because of iconic status, if I would have been gone for bid , I would have got more than MS dhoni 15 MUSD..Where my contract was just 11 MUSD…No because nobody knew that IPL will be a huge success and players will go for such a high price…

You cannot blame Lalit modi for Sachin loss; it is his innovative brain child and become huge success than the expected.

The Root cause for the entire problem in government DOT (department of Telecommunications) is Turnaround time of new process from conception to deployment is very very slow…like a snail. Many many crores can be saved not by just fixing with the people...by fixing with the process.

50% reduction in cycle time in any government process can do that!!   

We are the process owners and we should take the bottom line responsibility for the existing conditions from prime minister to a common Indian citizen.

My conclusion is Guilty should be punished based on the law for any illegal activities, but one cannot blame or sue a person based on this magic number 176lakh crores.

In simple, it is just invalid to call it as a magnanimous scam.

If they knew the value before 3G auction and CAG published this magic number, but still government went ahead with the old process, it is worth to have a call and investigate based on this Magic number.

Otherwise it is just a drama. Everyone will try to get some fish from the unclear pond.

We are just either spectators or parrots!!

To Lori , My search was over the day I Met you !!

First line in the first page prompted me to read the entire book "GOOGLE story" from top to bottom and not able to keep the book down even my eyes and body want to sleep.

Wow what an amazing book. Two PHD Kids Lori and Sergey from the Stanford University Microsoft foundation block later challenged the giant with an innovation.

Yahoo and Alta vista rejected the Google search engine for 1 MUSD offer prompted them to drop their PHD studies and start their own company and the rest is history.

"I am going to download the entire web in to my desktop" an idea from Lori and sergey Mathematical formula for the Page rank made Google search engine as the world most popular search engine.

I would like to give the Gist of this book, the entire story is like a drama with lot of emotions involved in it. Charlie Ayer executive chef part is touched me a lot, they were around 5000 Tshirts printed with his name, when he left the Google to start his own restaurant and he has also given some stock option by these nice guys.

The key to success is, they don’t know how they are going to make money even after running a company about a year. Whenever we focus on money the idea to start the business or the creativity is killed. Their aim is to solve the search problem in the internet world. There are no banners, no flash adds, no unwanted pop ups, hyperlinks nothing u can see in the world most popular site.

Later as agreed with Venture capitalist, they recruited Schmidt as a CEO to run the business. So that they can give focus more on innovation. In Google we can spend 20% of time for our own ideas, in fact if they like the idea, these guys will allocate resource for our own projects. Google News is an idea by Bharat an Indian where we can read all the news in one page.

Still they are not making any money out of it, but they liked the idea and it got implemented.

"Challenge with Microsoft" This is quite interesting part.. Once upon a time there was a thought that in reality no one can compete with Microsoft or not even go near to the Giant. Microsoft had a Wonderful strategy where they either sidelined or killed the competitors all the way in the Desktop OS Platform. Even Shiv Nadar from HCL has regretted in one of the interview, in 1980’s how they lost the space to Microsoft in the OS Market.

I don’t know how many of them like him has been wiped out around the world. Linux and Mac are still there but not strong enough. For e.g. when I went to buy a personal computer in a retail Shop at India whether HCL, Compaq, Dell or Toshiba all are just coming out Windows OS. What is good and bad about it?

Ideally a consumer should be the King in any market not the producer. It is good for both the consumer and the producer. Consumer will be benefited with competitive price and high quality. Producer can benchmark their performance with competitors and it is a fuel makes things better and better and better...

Live example for this is recently released Windows7 OS for Mobile by Microsoft, Earlier Windows mobile OS is a flop , what made them to come out with brand New Win7 for mobile with awesome UI and rewritten everything from scratch. Would they have invested so much money if there no such things like Android 2.2, RIM, Symbian, iOS available in the market? My answer is strong no. Probably they may release better version but they might have taken their own sweet time to release win7.

I am not against Microsoft, I love, and I admire the world most talented bunch of people who works at Microsoft. But they cannot sleep with the past glory.

It high time for Microsoft Sales and strategy team to create a feeling among consumers that, they are not using windows Desktop OS just by chance...it is by their choice... "Own choice"

Otherwise it is going to be another tortoise and Rabbit story "Google is chasing man"

Finally this is what you can interfere from the book...They are various ongoing secret projects in the field of automobile, Genetics, Competitive products for MS Desktop OS and Microsoft Office, Clean energy and so on..
